Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all those in Canada. This has to be a beautiful time to be having it, probably comparable to weather down here in the South when we have our Thanksgiving. Wishing you well and all of God's blessings on you and yours.

We had a really great time at the park yesterday. The temps were in the 40s and 50s, but the sun was shining and there wasn't a lot of wind. The children caught some fish (not big enough to keep). Our almost-three-year-old caught her first fish, but wouldn't touch it. A couple of the men went in swimming for about five minutes. This was a spring-fed lake that is ice-cold even in the hottest part of the summer! But, you see, an 11yo boy had gone in first and the men just couldn't let him put them to shame. Not my hubby, though. He was smart and stayed dry.

We had turkey and all the trimmings, played ball, watched the two- year-olds enjoy the slide at the playground, ate pie and drank hot chocolate, and had a time of singing with my husband's guitar. There were 31 people there.

Thank you, Ivy. A better Thanksgiving couldn't have been had at this house if we tried...I didn't have to cook!! :o) my friend was going all out doing a turkey for her family of 3. We were going to have a frozen pizza after hubby had worked on the barn all day (his request for the meal) so he didn't want to be caught up in a fussy meal and its clean up. My friend and her daughter had been here for a visit and took my son home with them for more play and later her hubby called to invite us for supper. It was delicious!! Baked butternut squash from her garden, turkey, dressing, garden fresh carrots, bread, cranberry sauce, and gravy... with a dutch apple pie I had made the day before for dessert. And the best part was the good company of dear friends!
