Updated on 2001-10-09 21:43:30 BAJUR, October 09 (PNS): First skirmish between Pakistani troops and Taliban forces were reported today from Bajur Agency, a bordering Tribal town near Afghanistan. Reportedly 20 to 25 Taliban troops asked the Pakistani para military forces to open the border and upon refusal Taliban forces opened the fire. The fighting took place for more than two hours. So far no reports have come of any injuries.

Pakistan had earlier put its forces on high alert.
