Sheeple Reporting In...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News : One Thread

Maggie,

I'm fine. Still waiting for them to hit me, as they say they will arive around 9:50 or so.

In case you didn't know, apoc = Sheeple.

I don't want LL to catch wind of me, cause I don't want her causing me any more problems.

Currently, just have hope that my systems at work stay up so that I don't have to drive in this mess. Some places getting 5-6" of rain in a very short period of time. It floods here really easy.

Glad to hear you are okay. It's 9:31 PM Central now and the wind has picked up here in western Misssouri, with a little rain. No, I didn't know you used both names, glad you told me. Did you hear anything about where is Missouri this storm may go through?

Maggie,

No I haven't sorry. Currently the one coming into OKC is mainly ENE. There were some rain storms that went thru Tulsa headed your way, but they weren't strong and didn't produce hail or tornados.

If this one doesn't break up, I would gestimate that it would hit around Arkansas to maybe Arkansas/Missouri line.

News here has only been here, as they are currently only showing live dopplar shots and live shots of the storms.

Sheeps, if it goes to the Arkansas/Missouri line, I should be ok then. I live north of there. You said it should be coming thru around 9:50 PM where you are, is the wind picking up there now?

NE OK, kids said lightning hit the bus. I believe them, lightning hit a few yards away from me while I was waiting for them.

Sheeple, glad you're ok. We lost power for about five hours. Living the "old way" is so boring the kids were in bed asleep before 8 pm. :)

Gawd, you guys are so CALM! I just love doomers!

Glad to hear your okay, Helen. I bet the kids got all shook up with the lightning hitting the bus, thank goodness for the tires on the bus, that put room between them and the ground. Waiting to hear if Sheeps made it though the storm cell that was to go through her area.

You know, the kids answered a question for me today that I've always wondered about. Lightning CAN strike a moving vehicle. The kids were more impressed than scared.

made it thru just fine! Had really high winds and hail and some really heavy rain. Got to sleep around midnight. Wasn't about to be on the computer during that mess.

Here in Iowa we got the winds from your storms. Was incredibly windy all night. Will check this morning for any damage, but I think we are probably fine. Glad you are ok Sheeple

Thanks, everyone, for checking in. Storm is supposed to fizzle out by the time it reaches New England.

Brooke,

Not sure if I actually got damage at the house yet. I left when it was still way dark (due to the storm clouds coming in) trying to beat the storm on the way in.

When I get home this evening, I'll do the once over. I did find out that one of the windows high up on the house isn't sealed good. In the height of the storm last night, the floor had some sprinkles on it. I researched it and saw a few drops coming in from that window. Guess the rain blowing straight at it breached any crack in the seal. I'll have to get hubby to go up and check it out once it stops raining.

Also, hoping I don't go home to a flood inside the house today. I looked in that vent this morning, and there was just a trace of water. Got it all out, but the rain this morning has been heavier than it was last night.
