LOL! I'm ovah heah! Just dug out the potassium iodide from the storeroom closet and in the process made more room for more stuff. Cheeky sods.

Be still my beating heart, you have a store room! Some people wish for fame and glory, I wish for a store room.

OG, what news made you do what your doing?

Well, the storeroom used to be the spare bedroom/sewing room/junk room. I got rid of the bed, lol, and put shelves all up the walls. (The other spare bedroom is Sweetie's playroom.)

Wasn't really anything new, Mags. Just that I wasn't sure where I had stashed the potassium iodide (which I've been meaning to find since September 11) and I still haven't found the heating pads, which I need for the kitties now it's cold. Also, I tidy up the store room and closet every six months or so, whether they need it or not. And they usually do. Amazing what you come across--quite a few things I forgot I stashed. Shan't need dishwashing liquid for at least a year now, for instance.

Old Git,

I see a problem in your household. The master bedroom should be Sweetie's playroom, not the spare bedroom.

Then again, maybe I shouldn't ask. ;)

OG, I have thought about giving the guest bed away (slept on once)and put shelving on one of the walls , like you did but, one of my sisters and her husband may come out for a visit next year.

The key word is "may." That's why I was finally able to trade my second bed for a rollaway one that tucks into a corner in the laundry room. Why give up all that space for a "maybe" or even a 3-day visit? I'm also getting more partial about telling people to bring a tent or go to a motel. Rude, yes. But that leaves more storage space.

Luckily, we have several motels not far away. Or maybe get another air bed and blow it up in the den or something.

Shh! I have *three* air beds tucked away. They are for emergency use. I honestly hope that I never have to put up as many as will fit on the beds.

Among my y2k preps are a twin-sized and full-sized air mattress which self-inflate given working electricity. I never tried them out because I don't think I could get them back in their original containers. But I think they are the perfect answer to guests. That or a futon.

Brooks, when we bought our air mattress, which came with its own battery-operated pump, I noticed there were separate pumps of the same type available.

After reading the replys, I just might get another air mattress with the inflation motor and get rid of the mattress and box springs...store the other pieces to the bed in the garage. That sure would give me more room. I just thought of something, DUH, they have a trailer or motor home that they would be coming in. They could sleep in it.

I wish there was a salvation Army or Goodwill I could call to come get it.
