For those of you who have been following this delimma-the airlines may refuse to ship live poultry etc.- there's an update on McMurry's website. Seems there's a bill being introduce to help and the animal rights activist are protesting. www.mcmurrayhatchery.com

Several people over on the poultryforum have posted in the last couple of weeks about receiving dead chicks. From what I've been reading, I'm wondering if we will see some of our big mail order poultry houses out of business come next year:( ..I received a useless reply back from my Senator, telling me things I already knew, and looking to the post office and airlines to sort it out themselves.

I wonder if the animal rights folks realize how many types of old, rare poultry they are going to remove from the gene pool? I recently became a member of the SPPA- Society for the preservation of poultry antiquities- and those folks are real worried it will make a difficult job imposible if they're unable to send birds and chicks to others (like me) who want to start flocks of rare birds.

All of you should consider joining SPPA. Dues are cheep, cheep, cheep. Couldn't pass that up. Seriously, it's only $15 for 2 years. If you like old, unusual stuff, they're a great resource.

Mary, which poultry forum are you refering to? please post the addy. Thanks
