I got mine day before yesterday and yes, it's a good one. Probably one of the best in quite a while. I had been thinking about cancelling but won't now after this one! It would be a good one to discuss!

Yes, it is very good! I also got my M.E.N. mag and I am sooooo disappointed. They did a spread of saving money and spoke of ways to save with your appliances. They told of how to save money with your washer annnnnd DRYER! Hello, wouldn't hanging our laundry to dry save the most $ ?????? It was funny. Jennifer

I cancelled my 3 year subscription when the censoring started on the Countryside forum. I don't miss it, thought I would.

got mine and spent the afternoon on the porch swing reading through it. I will have to read it again though. Lots of great articles. Avery good one written by a man who was a major spendthrift, but moved back to small town, started going back to church and changed his life completely. It was great. I think you will all like that one!

Melissa,

Are you talking about the article written by Harry and Josie Meekins? I think they are the ones that have the forum called Homestead and Frugal Living. I receive the posts in my email and there are some very good ideas and tips from all those that post.

the magazine is in the Bedroom and hubby is asleep, so I will have to look tomorrow. I will try to find their forum, maybe you can post address for it????

Melissa, Below is the information I was initially sent concerning the Homesteading and Frugal Living newsletter:

We offer an alternative to some of the forums in that we do not allow postings of current events unless they pertain directly to our charter: homesteading and frugal living, simple living, preparedness, and all the subjects related thereto. We do monitor messages and keep out those who would disrupt or create bad feelings. You will not receive any messages that pertain to 'business offers', cute stories, religion, politics, or social issues. These are deleted before they have a chance to get to your mailbox! Besides, these are personal decisions that people have to make on their own and not with our help. And, above all, we make every effort to protect the privacy of our members. In fact the membership list is not viewable by the other members. To start sending messages to members of this group, simply send email to Homesteading-and-Frugal-Living@yahoogroups.com

Thought that spaghetti tasted a little funny . . . and now know why my wife was giggling (here you go, honey, bon apetit!) And no Jay, I was no where NEAR your bins.

Haven't subscribed to Countryside since they deleted threads pertaining to Christian postings, etc. and they chose to become "politically correct" way back last January. Don't miss it a bit.

It is a shame that some Christian posts were deleted on Countryside. I do love the latest issue, since it talks about saving money. One lady feeding her family on $60 a week!! I desperately needed encouragement in this, as my garden was big... but not big enough. The store trips have been making me cringe! :o) Not that I can't afford it, but the money would better going to the mortage in extra payments, etc. I want to help out all that I can with saving our money, not just expect the hubby to work overtime.
