By John Solomon

Associated Press Writer Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001; 4:20 p.m. EDT

WASHINGTON In a stark warning, the FBI said Thursday it has received information there may be additional terrorist attacks inside the United States or abroad in the next several days.

The bureau said its information does not identify specific targets, but it has asked local police to be on the highest alert and for all Americans to be wary of suspicious activity.

I think the scare tactics and fear mongering being waged against us are going a little bit over the edge. Paranoia, at a time like this, we do not need.

I guess it is a case of each to his own level of concern. As for me, I take all these threats very seriously.

I think this a fig leaf for the FBI. If anything happens, they can say "I told you so".

And if nothing happens, future warnings will be shrugged off.

For myself, I just assume another attack is always possible, even where I am, and go on with life anyway. The backpack I carry my work stuff in on the train is also a bug-out bag -- one that's almost two years old now.

There is so many FBI warnings lately, why are we getting sooo many of them anyway? I tend to agree about the fear mongering going around. It is causing so many to be full of fear. Not saying that it isn't possible, just saying I would like to know what kind of info they recieved sometimes, we never get to hear about that do we?

Why would you name a serious notice "skyfall.htm"? Is this warning intended for Chicken Little?

Oh.... uh... I see they've corrected that on the FBI site.

(And you wonder why there's a credibility problem...)
