Harry Harlow

I am continuing to work on the academic lineages of the psychology faculty here at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Does anyone know the name of Harry Harlow's thesis advisor? Harlow received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1930. Thanks, Clare Porac

According to Zusne's _Biographical Dictionary of Psychology_, Harlow's supervisor at Stanford was Calvin Perry Stone (1892-1954). Stone had, in turn, been a student of Karl Lashley's at Minnesota (Ph.D. 1921). Stone was mainly a comparative psychologist, but also offered the first regular curricululm course on Freudian psychology in an American unviersity (Stanford, 1923). He was APA president in 1942.
