Anyone want to tell their age?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

As I read and answer certain threads I try to get an idea in my head of who you are, so I just wondered how old everyone is?!? I know some don't want ot tell but I think it will be fun to find out.

I am 33, will be 34 in November. In my head I think I am 16, but my body generally feels like it is 80!!! I used to think 30 was really old, but now I think old is closer to 55-60! My husband is 42, but looks 10 years younger.

Be brave! Who's next??

55-60 isn't nearly as old as it used to be, now that I'm 54. Sometimes I get a glance at myself in a mirror or window reflection and I wonder why my mother is staring back at me! I'm generally comfortable with my age, except when younger people seem to look right through me as if I'm not there. We really are invisible to the younger generation.

I'm 59, pushing 60! Beginning to feel old! Actually, my body feels old but my mind doesn't! Make sense?

-- Barb in Ky. (bjconthefarm@yahoo.com), October 14, 2001.

49, being old beats the alternative-unless you're saved.

-- Cindy (S.E.IN) (atilrthehony@countrylife.net), October 14, 2001.

39, but don't feel it!

-- Carol in Tx (cwaldrop@peoplescom.net), October 14, 2001.

My OLD bod thinks it's 32 until I try to work it like it's that age. Still drink'n ice tea by the buckets full, still eatin like a hog and still in love with my little dumplin too! OLD hoot, tha yung'n, gibson. Matt.24:44

I'm 47 with a 23 year old daughter who married in May attending Indiana University Law School and a 21 year old son finishing his undergaduate degree at Purdue who just accepted a job offer from General Electric Medical in Milwaukee for May.

As to aging, as my 82 year old Mom often tells me, "Getting old isn't for the weak."

What a coincidence! I also an 59, will be 60 in July. Hello, Barb in Ky. Barb in Ks.

-- Barb Fischer (bfischer42@hotmail.com), October 14, 2001.

I'm 38 and my hubby is the same, exactly one week older!! I still feel pretty young, but I am afraid that my boys are going to start aging me real quick, especially my 13 year old.

-- Ivy in NW AR (balch84@cox-internet.com), October 14, 2001.

Melissa, Heck...I wouldn't mind telling my age either if I was just a little ol' 33 year old like you! My only child will be 37 on her next birthday! I am 54 and hubby is 55. It's ok...life is good!

-- Judy in North Carolina (mpjprus@bellsouth.net), October 15, 2001.

I'm 33 (34 in December) and hubby is 37 (38 in May). Our kids are almost 3 yrs and 4 1/2 yrs (3 days shy of 20 months betwixt them). I feel like I am a hundred somedays and 12 yrs old on others!!LOL Anyone like that Kim Stockwood song 12 Years Old? She has such a way with lyrics. Vicki, there is a kiddy show on TV about two little kids named Tom and Vicky "playin' in their granddad's garden..". hee hee.

Goodness, had to stop and think about this one. I'm 35, hubby is 33, and we have two children, a 5 year old girl and an almost 4 year old boy.

-- Judy L (quiltjude@iwon.com), October 15, 2001.

Well, let's see, since daughter child is five this year, that's makes me 45!! But who's counting?;)

-- mary (marylgarcia@aol.com), October 15, 2001.

Hey Mary! Sounds like you and I shared the lovely experience of being 40 and pregnant! I'm 44, hubby is 45, and we have two girls, 11 and 4. He also has a daughter from a previous marriage who just happened to be pregnant at the same time I was. So, our grandson is few months older than our youngest daughter. (I do believe that was a slightly stressful year for dear hubby!) :-)

-- Cheryl in KS (cherylmccoy@rocketmail.com), October 15, 2001.

27 I think but it feels more like 45!

-- Micheale from SE Kansas (mbfrye@totelcsi.net), October 15, 2001.

I'll be 45 in December and my husband will be 60 in November. It's funny how "old" is relative to how old you are at the time.

-- Terry - NW Ohio (aunt_tm@hotmail.com), October 15, 2001.

I am 37 and my fabulous husband is 40. His mom still has a problem with her "baby" being 40.

-- Charleen in WNY (harperhill@eznet.net), October 15, 2001.

Hello! I am 50 (51 in December) and Hubby is 54 (was in August). We have two children, 29 and 27, and a grandchild 2. I am young at heart, usually.

I am 43 and my hubby is 37.

-- Kathy (jubilant@ncweb.com), October 15, 2001.

Well you are all just a bunch of kids! I read this section all the time, but this is the first I've posted here. I have a college professor son and escrow co. manager dau., 2 grandsons, and one great grandaughter. I am 77, going on 49. I'm a widow, keep up a 2000 sq. ft. house on 1 1/4 acre. Have chickens,Pekin ducks, orchard and large garden. Can, freeze and dehydrate. Am working on the last apple tree now, then have the corn to pick and will be finished with most of the garden. I have a "safe house", do decorative painting, mostly on furniture for a "cash crop", and give respite care for dau.'s foster child. I love the country life, and all the nice people I meet here.

Hello Melissa, I will be 45 years old tomorrow and my wife, Melitza just turned 25 years old ten days ago! Sincerely, Ernest

I am 57 and my husband Gary is 63.

-- diane (gardiacaprines@yahoo.com), October 16, 2001.

I will be 38 a month from today, Keith turned 38 last month so we get to be the same age for 2 months. Had a sweet young girl of 19 tell me yesterday that I was one of the coolest old people she knows. I guess that's a compliment!

-- Sherri C (CeltiaSkye@aol.com), October 16, 2001.

I'm 41 and so is hubby. We're 4 months apart and he likes to tease me (before HIS birthday) about me being SOOOOOO much older than him. LOL He's a real character. We were high school sweethearts and will be married 21 years next month. Our oldest daughter is 20 (honeymoon baby), youngest daughter just turned 17 yesterday (New Year's baby), and our son is 7 (Halloween baby - haven't figured out exactly WHAT we were celebrating THAT Halloween)! Loving (almost) every minute of it!!

-- Greenthumbelina (sck8107@aol.com), October 16, 2001.

Finally! Somewhere I'm not the oldest :o). I'm 30.

-- Amanda in MO (mrsgunsmyth@hotmail.com), October 16, 2001.

I'm 38 (39 in January), but keeping up with my three year son sometimes gets me feeling 138 by the end of the day.

-- j.r. guerra (jrguerra@boultinghousesimpson.com), October 17, 2001.

I just turned 27 Sometimes I feel older sometimes I feel younger. I probably act a lot younger sometimes. Age is just a number anyway it's how you live your life that is important.

-- mindy (speciallady@countrylife.net), October 17, 2001.

34 and holding!

-- Patty {NY State} (fodfarms@slic.com), October 19, 2001.

Ann will be my age in April (46)!!!

-- rick K (rick@notmail.com), October 20, 2001.

You people really make me feel old....I'm 68 and will be 69 in January But you can believe me I don't look my age and I don't act my age..I really enjoy life and remember that you are as old as you feel and that you only go through life once and you better get everything you can out of it....

-- Bob S (snuffy@1st.net), October 30, 2001.

Happened to find this thread today. I guess I'm not the very oldest! I'm 65 but have had only 6 birthdays. Have 2 sons, ages 43 and 41 and a daughter who shares her birthday with Hoot's oldest son, both born Dec. 31, 1966. Lil Dumplin and I celebrated that day!

-- gibson girl (bobtravous@email.com), November 19, 2001.

I'm 59, hubby is 49. I don't feel "old" exept when I see my ex. I think, "My God, I was married to THAT old codger!" Oy vey!

-- Ardie/WI (ardie54965@hotmail.com), November 19, 2001.

Well, I'll be four dozen on Christmas; my husband is four and 1\4 years older. We've been together almost 29 years and have two great sons, 20 and 24. Age doesn't really bother me most of the time. I met a man at my uncle's funeral today who is 84 and still enjoys riding his Harley! As long as I'm healthy, I believe I'll be happy. There are so many things left to do!

-- Debbie in S IL (dc1253@hcis.net), November 19, 2001.

I'll be 49 in six days. Hubby is 53.
