NEW FOLKS - Clicking on "New Answers" and other tedious admin stuff

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

Doing so will take you to the threads which have had answers, latest answer first. It's a handy shortcut, showing which threads have the most interest.

I've shortened the time for which threads stay on the "New Questions" page to three days because there are so many. I may shorten it to two days if this keeps up. After three days, the threads go into archived categories, which you can find below the last three days' worth of threads.

Please also choose a category when you post a report. This ensures that the thread will be archived in a category of your choosing instead of being lost in one of our choosing :)

I've reorganized the categories and hope it will be easier to choose the appropriate one for your thread. Besides the ADMIN category, I've separated the threads into three main categories: ATTACK (just about anything to do with the attack[s] on the US), GENERAL (news of interest other than attack-related, although I've put Econ in here and not in ATTACK), and PREPS (any info that will help us prepare for natural or man-made disaster). Here they are, along with the current number of threads in each:

ADMIN (4)
ATTACK - Action re Afghanistan (72)
ATTACK - Arab reaction (23)
ATTACK - Bio-chem related (56)
ATTACK - Geography, locations, etc. (4)
ATTACK - Homeland defense (55)
ATTACK - Miscellaneous (81)
ATTACK - Mood at home (29)
ATTACK - On US (33)
ATTACK - Other countries (60)
ATTACK - Political action (38)
GENERAL - ECON (9)
GENERAL - Energy (2)
GENERAL - Environment (2)
GENERAL - Humor (1)
GENERAL - Misc (19)
GENERAL - Natural Disasters (8)
GENERAL - Politics (3)
GENERAL - Science, Health, Tech (11)
PREPS - Food ,water, sanitation (11)
PREPS - Medical/Health (2)
PREPS - Misc (13)
