Oh yes, Kirk, the loonies have amply opportunity for achieving easy revenge now, what could be easier for even the most simple-minded of whackos to do than address an envelope to your dreaded foe, and put a few shakes of talcum powder in it?

Even here in "Podunk", our courthouse was shut down because the judge received a letter with a "white powdery substance" in it, they had yellow police tape strung up all around the outside of the 200 year old building. When I was driving by, I was thinking, "What in Pete's sake is going on HERE?". Well, I kinda figured it was the loonies at work again, even here in the boonies! The newspaper that evening confirmed my suspicions, sheesh!!!

Personally, I hope that they throw the book at them (and I hope their aim is really good too). I was pleased that the two men out in Conneticut who thought that sending white powder to people they didn't like was a big yuk are now up on Federal charges; possible of 5 years imprisonment and $3 million in fines. Maybe it'll make a few of these boobs act like they've got a brain...the other ones get a free 5-year Federal vacation.

Yesterday they shut down a high school near us because they found "a white granuluar substance" on the floor of the cafeteria. Bussed the kids to another school or sent them home while they checked it out. It turned out to be...SALT!! Geez! In a cafeteria, can you imagine?

I blame not only the loonies but the fact that too many people are so eager to panic right now. I mean, a little common sense here would be nice!

Okay, here are a few I heard about. Powder substance in the cement aisle of the Home Depot (cement bags always leak) Powder substances in the baby aisle of a pharmacy (someone was playing with the baby powder) This one is good. Powdery substance on the hood of a car. On the ground, next to the car, is a powder donut (and Duncan Donuts right down the street)

They must be laughing at all the panic we are doing here. I'm in NJ so I feel responsible for the postmark in Trenton. I know I'm not responsible but...Anyway, they say that if you receive a strange letter, you can kill it by ironing it with a wet towel. They said it would survive the microwave because it is dry. They are also thinking of doing something to all the mail at the post offices. Like radiate or something.

I also wish everyone wasn't panicing and taking Cipro so much. If we ever do need it, it will no longer work.
