Canned Potato Question

Canned potatoes according to directions. The liquid in the jars is now cloudy. Having never done this before-Is this normal? Thanks-

As I sit here at the computer and look at mine, I would say yes, a bit of cloudy would be normal.

Yes, it's normal. It's the starch in the potatoes that causes the cloudiness, nothing to worry about.

Mine are also somewhat cloudy...but so delicious!!

Thank you all for your answers-all the rest of the food I canned had clear fluid and I thought I was going to have to throw out all my potatoes.

We actually dug over 100 lbs of potatoes today! Mine always turn a bit cloudy after they are canned. I don't like canned potatoes for too much but they do make the most excellent hash browns. I always try to make my kids a hot breakfast before school and potatoes can take so long, but with canned potatoes all you have to do is great and fry! They are super. Kim

mine get cloudy liquid too. I imagine its all the starch. They are sure nice to have on hand!!!!!
