How did the loss of many family members from tuberculosis effect his life and writtings????

His mother and later in full circle, his wife Virginia. In his wiritings his sickly heroines- and heros- were not uncommon to romantic, melancholic literature of the times but the imagery has often been referred to this this illness by many critics. Even the color scheme of red, white shrouds or linens. The fact of tragic deaths of females seems to have central to his litary tendencies as well as inescapable fact in his life. HE tries not to connect the dots, so it might be safe in those pre-freudian days, to assume he did not consciously mean to write about deeply painful trauma.
