Have you tried GSD rescue ? This may be a good place to look as the will test the dog before placing .The other place is petfinder.com the will have listing from shelters all over the place and also private people.

Not in your area, but they might have transportation options if you find a dog you want.

A few days back Elizabeth from Tampa area was looking for a home for one; ekfla@aol.com if memory serves me correct, if this is not the correct email search the older answers.

Cody go to www.petfinder.com look under classifieds and then "pets needing a home or something like that" there is a german sheperd needing a home .He is 4 but already trained from what it says to do search and rescue Ow yea it's in New York .Sounds like it could be a match !

Not sure if this will help, but we live in Ohio and we have a police trained German Shepard that we need to find a new home for since the Police Department is no longer using her. She is about 3 years old and has been with the force for about 2 years. Shelby is a great dog but she wants to work and not sit at home. She is good with children also. Let me know if you know of any solutions>
