Nasty people on Ebay

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

My mother recently made a purchase on Ebay.(A 57.00 purchase) When she recieved the package the clothes were not the ones pictured and was missing an new item. We let the seller know and she said her camera was bad. Well there is no way her camera can make white cotton look like blue denimn or a solid look plaid. She left feed back stating"picture did not match clothes sent and item missing". She has since recieved nasty email from this lady and she said she won't send the item that was missing and she was going to give her money back and now is not. I am not for sure how to handle this and am looking for help. Thanks and God Bless.

I believe Ebay has some type of problem-solving area for just this type of problem. Check around their site. Make sure you print out the listing information from that item now as it won't be there forever. I hope this helps.

Ebay gives you a chance to rate the person you had the transaction with also so that others will not be taken in.

e-mail E-Bay's customer service dept immediately. We had a $275 problem and they made the guy pay up pronto or never do business on the site again. They are very good!

Micheale, There is a feedback section for each buyer and seller on Ebay. You must go to that area and post a negative feedback. This is how others will know whether or not that person is a good/bad person to do business with. If that person gets 3 negatives within a few months, Ebay will first warn them to be more careful or they will boot them off of the system. Ebay also has a place to file complaints with them and they will try their best to straighten out your deliema. You and others should not judge all Ebay business people by a few bad ones. My wife and I have been selling and buying on Ebay since 1998 and have an excellent profile, as do most of the Ebay business people. Sincerely, Ernest

In the feedback comments I would post her own screw-you letter to you in its entirety along with your explanation of events. Nothing better to hang them than with their own rope.
