In cases of smallpox grapes have proved uselful, due to bi-tartrate of potash. Henna-says the fruit is thought to have emmenagogue properties.( www.botonical.com )Another site says that it cools the body. It was said that if it was placed on the "bottom of the feet smallpox would not reach the eyes" The palms of the hands shoul get some too.Another suggestes that soaking in a warm bath with grated ginger rids the body of infection. Dr John Tilden said that the first signs of smallpox was a "feeling of shot under the skin" He advocated hot baths for pain being CLEAN above all. No food for the first week, and an enema nightly. Keep all patients seperate. Thuha (Western Hemlock)is used for smallpox vacination complications. Olive and neem oil on skin, help with itch. Secondary infection like gangrene and hemhorraging contibute to death rates.

Where did you get this treatment for smallpox, Since you obviously have not seen small pox, and the results this might give you something to do while waiting for the patients to die. I was vaccinated three times for small pox, once as a child, once when sent to a part of the world that no one should have to go, and once when working at the CDC in Atlanta as a contractor in a area contaminated with Small pox. I now have three scars one for each time which means I needed all because the previous one had ran out. Grapes don't cure Small pox and it doesn't matter what you do with them.

I was vacinaited in 1953, again in 1965. It didn't take. I was advised that I had built up an immunity to it. I was vacinated again in 1970. Again it didn't take and was advised by the flight surgeon that I had an immunity to it. In 1973 I was sent to Coulumbia and again I was vacinaited and again it did't take and was advised that I had an immunity to it. My children were vacinaited in 1970 and 1971 and they did not take. The doctor said they had an immunity to it. Now does it last for life or not. If they put the viris on you and it doesn't take I think I would have an emmunity.

I posted the addy for where I got the information. I never claimed that they cured it, I quoted the article which said useful. I simply posted some things I had found through research, you can find the articles yourself if you look. Did you try grapes when you had smallpox? I feel God put everything on this earth for a reason, even a grape. The cure for every disease has been given to us, we just have to unlock the door...

Lynnda, please re-post the web address. It is not working for me. Thanks!

I believe that smallpox vaccine only last about 7 years then you need a "boaster" or another vaccination. I have had 2 in my life and it never seemed to leave a scar of any kind. Don't know if that really means anything though. With all of the news about the anthrax and now smallpox I suppose before too long we will be getting vaccinated again. What is this world coming too !! God Help Us All !!

Lynnda, I appreciate you posting information that could be useful to people. Since the med proffession has no effective treatments for smallpox it makes sense to search out alternatives. When smallpox epidemics hit, there were always those who survived. Why? That is the question we need to be asking ourselves. I doubt that simple basic herbal preparations are going to be the complete answer for a disease with the complexity and virulence of smallpox. If you really want to prepare for something like this I think the best bet is to farmiliarize yourself with immunology on at least a basic level and search our natural meds that have been well researched. www.keephope.net is a web site I think that beats all others for highlighting natural immune stimulants that have been proven to work. THey have been tested on AIDS patients and found to build immunity. What I like about this site is that they point out both what works and what doesn't and alot of these research participants are having their killer T cell functions tested regularly and finding positive results when using certain natural products and no results when using others.

One interesting therapy recently highlighted was injecting both chickens and pregnant cow udders with the blood of a sick individual. The raw egg yolk and the cow's colostrum would will contain antibodies that when consumed by a chronically ill individual will promote recovery. This may go beyond what some would call natural medicine. But if you had AIDS or Epstien Barr(thank God I don't) it sure beats death.

Most of the treatments highlighted on this site are natural herbal preparations or immune stimulating products. I haven't found more conprehensive info on fighting high fatality diseases anywhere else. I don't mean to sound skeptical, but I think that a disease like smallpox needs a real big gun and that most herbal combinations are not designed to deal with such virulant infections. Let's face it - today's herbal healers and N.D.'s have not had to deal with anything of the magnitude of smallpox in recent years. That is why I appreciate the keephope site. I have found that few in natural medicine have developed an effective treatment for infectious disease that has a high fatality rate like AIDS. Yet Mark Konlee has many long term survivors in his research groups that remain healthy by following his suggested natural protocols. If you want to prepare yourself to deal with a disease with the virulance and mortality rate of smallpox you would need to learn from those who have beaten other "stealth" pathogens. Mark Konlee is the man. Hope his web site will be helpful to you!
