The remote mail site that handles all mail destined for the White House has been confirmed as having anthrax as of this morning. Reflects enhanced security procedures in place since 9/11. Found on a "slitter" machine? This is a "military" facility miles from the White House. Not sure, I believe they said that all testing at the White House has been negative so far. The mail room employees at the White House and the employees at the remote facility will all be tested. (Current press conference)

Anthrax presence found at off-site White House mail screening site

WASHINGTON -- Tests have confirmed the presence of anthrax at an off- site mail screening facility for the White House, presidential spokesman Ari Fleischer said Tuesday.

Fleischer said the facility, which is at a military installation miles from the White House, "has been closed for further testing and contamination."

He added that all environmental tests at the White House itself have come back negative.

He added that all employees at the site were being tested for exposure to the disease, as were mail workers in the White House complex itself.
