John, I have come to the conclusion that you need a day off from these saints! You stated above that you believe today to be the 29th of August! Maybe we should give you a rest! (lololol). How about that trusty young assistant of yours - David? I wonder if he feels up to it? Maybe he could post the Saints for November? (hehehe).

Peace!

Thanks, Ed, for the correction. I'm not weary -- just too old to manage multiple facts simultaneously.

I would appreciate it if the Moderator could change "August" to "October" in the original post.

Ed,

Thanks, But I am about 9-10 months away fron being able to do Saints of the Day. When John has a full year posted then I will be able to do it right! About 2 times a month I see a Saint missing for the day, but if I tried to post Saint of day by myself, I would miss about 6-8 Saints a day. It seems like the list is getting longer and longer at the end of month.

Hey. I was confirmed with the name Narcissus about 10 years ago or so... Maybe about 8. Anywho... Although I dont believe in God or the Devil, I still try to live life like a good "Catholic". While not a practitioner, I do pray occasionally and have a rabid lust for religious history, mainly Semetic religions. We had to do this essay about our saint and since there wasnt more than a few paragraphs about Narcissus of Jerusalem, they let me slide as long as I knew who he was. My priest asked me "Eric, who was St. Narcissus?" and my reply was simply "Bishop Narcissus of Jerusalem". He knew I knew who he was. He knows I'm very intelligent but like to lead people into believing I'm a dullard so he let me slide with that cause there was gonna be a whole lot of "You asked who he was, I told you. I did the adult thing in the eyes of the church so now the church should view me as such". I think I said it anyway just to be a smart***. Anyway, sorry for giving you so much of a backstory. I jsut figured you'd want to know the nature of me before tackling my question...

Saints (for the most part) seem to have a thing associated with them. I would think it unfit and outright demeaning if we simply called him "The Saint of Invertebrates and Petroleum Distillates". Theres gotta be something he's the saint of... Maybe Longjevity? He DID live till 116 I believe. Is he the saint of anything or is he just St. Narcissus of Jerusalem?

Thanks for your help and if you need anything clarified, just email me -- xcheckzx@optonline.net

Checkz AKA Narcissus of New Jerusalem

(I live in Trenton, NJ. We referr to New Jersey sometimes as New Jerusalem heh. It's fitting for the name ;) )
