Baking a Better Cake or Cookie Always choose shiny, light cake pans or cookie sheets for baking. The reason? Darker pans or sheets will absorb more heat and consequently cause dough to burn more quickly and easily.

Belt Extension

Stop looking at your waist; I'm talking about sanding belts! The belt sander is a great tool when aggressive sanding is required, and the belts last a good while. Here is a way to get a little more use out of a worn sanding belt. A piece of 1x or 2x material can be cut the same width as the belt and then trimmed in length until the belt fits snugly over the block. Rounding over the ends of the block will make it easier to slide the belt onto the block. You now have a great hand-sanding block at little or no cost.
