My Brittany was easy to train around chickens. This breed is bred to point when they see game, and my Brittany pointed the chickens. Of course, that meant that he wanted to HUNT the chickens, but that gave me the chance to scold him for getting agressive with the poultry. Once he realized that chickens were not for his pleasure he turned his attention to moles and rabbits. He DID disobey a few times when he was young, but he always pointed for a second before he went for them, and that gave me the chance to intervene. I trust him with my chickens now, but I would never want him around someone elses birds without me as he would probably have to be taught to leave each individual flock alone. Actually, he is very good about finding the birds when they fly the coop: when I come out short a bird I tell him to "GET THE CHICKEN" and he finds it for me. It is one of the high points of his life!
