Today, October 31, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- saints whose souls are now in heaven:

St. Quentin of Amiens (Roman, missionary, tortured and martyred by beheading [in today's France] in 287)
St. Wolfgang of Ratisbon (Austrian, Benedictine monk, schoolteacher, bishop, d. 994)
Sts. Ampliatus, Urbanus, and Narcissus (Roman, missionaries, mentioned in Romans 16, martyred in 1st century)
St. Stachys of Byzantium (from what is now Turkey, bishop, mentioned in Romans 16, 1st century)
St. Antoninus Fontana (Italin, archbishop, d. 660)
St. Arnulfus of Novalese (Italian, Benedictine monk, martyred by Muslims c. 840)
St. Bega (Irish or Anglo-Saxon, virgin, d. 681)
Bl. Christopher of Romagnola (Italian, parish priest then Franciscan friar, d. 1272)
St. Erth of Cornwall (Irish, bishop, c. 512)
St. Foillan of Fosses (Irish, Benedictine abbot in Belgium, c. 655)
St. Notburga of Cologne (German, Benedictine nun, c. 714)

If you have anything to share about these holy people, please reply now -- biographical episodes, prayers through their intercession, the fact that one is your patron saint -- whatever moves you. If you are interested in one of these saints and want to find out more about him/her, please ask. Information is sometimes available on the Internet.

All you holy men and women, saints of God, pray for us.
God bless you.
John
