We put together a great "gross out" display tonite(Crafts/Hobbies)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

My friend went all out with their Holloween decorations this year. I loaned him 10 pounds of my worms and compost for his coffin display. He got one of those cardboard jobs and put a stuffed suit and mask in it. We opened the suit up and put a mini bin with some feed to keep the worms active in the "chest cavity", using clear plastic wrap as a containment barrier so a good view could be had of the worms. He leaned the prop against the wall in the shadow of his porch and flashed it with a strobe to get an eerie effect. The worms weren't too happy about the light, but they put on a great show and they're back home in the dark again.

I've been working hard at bookmarking a lot of sites dedicated to Halloween decorating ideas for those who like to really do the whole nine yards. So far, I haven't found this idea on any of the sites, but I daresay some of them would probably love to hear about it. Want any addresses?

Did you get the vomit off the coffin? Or did they all turn their heads politely to do so?!!! Yikes! What a costume!

They had quite a few screamers and quite a few freeze and shakers :>). I thought he was going to pass out when I told him I would rather have the worms back when he asked if it would be o.k. to turn them loose. He couldn't believe that those 10 lbs of worms were worth $300 to $400.
