lost post -- where did it go?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

I just read a post titled something about needing a Truth Commission for the CIA and having the URL http://hv.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=006sQj

and I read it with interest and went to one of the articles that it referenced; and then when I came back to GICC and hit "reload" -- that "Truth Commission" article was nowhere to be found. When I went to my history folder and clicked on its entry there, I received this message:

Couldn't find message 006sQj. Probably it was deleted by the forum maintainer.

Where did it go? Fortunately, I bookmarked the page it had referenced; but there were other addresses in message 006sQj that I wanted to check out also.

Any ideas?

We are in a state of war. Who's side are you on?

Pretty much, we're all on the same side. Kinda wierd, huh?

Sheesh

Was I not supposed to read that? This forum really is being censored? Is that your meaning, Rick?

Hunter, I do not know.

If the site is censored, no big deal, we can move on. . Things change during a war.

Abe Lincoln censored things.

FDR, during WWII censored communications, also.

Why is it a big surprise? Militant Muslims, also, read this site for info.

This site is available around the word to any kook. Let who ever censors this site do it, so the Militant Muslims can “put it where the sun doesn’t shine.” (this is American code)

I can understand censoring battle plans. I can even understand censoring something like, "My fourth cousin once removed is in the Coast Guard Special Forces and he just called home from Donunderstan." Censoring an ex-CIA guy saying, "I left the agency because I thought we were being really stupid 10-15 years ago" -- that, I don't understand. If the idea is to censor embarrassing info (*if* indeed it *was* info, you understand, and not just crank stuff) so that I will remain a loyal American and not question my wartime government, I'm afraid that such has rather the opposite effect. I have always respected people who acknowledge their mistakes (and try to learn from them) far more than I do people who try to hide them.

But I don't know that it even *was* censored, as such. It might have been pulled for some other reason entirely, or it might even have suffered some glitch of this ailing board, a random electronic accident that also triggered the "probably it was deleted" automatic message. I still wonder if anyone knows where it is.
