Fridays brain whooper stumper

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

In an attempt to be fair minded and to help the people on the "left" side of the country win one I am posting early tomorrows stumper for them, therefore: There is a Mc Donalds that has 28,000 square feet of space, 700 seats, and 29 cash registers and is located at ____________, _________?~

Venita, Oklahoma right over the Will Rogers Turnpike going to Tulsa

I would guess another country! That is a lot of seats! I do not think I would want to wait in line there on a busy day! Maybe take a tram or golf cart to find a table.... :o)

I think Debbie's right - the McDonalds in the middle of the Turner Turkpike in Vinita, OK. Before it was a McDonald's, it was a Howard Johnsons! (This was SEVERAL years ago.) We would always stop there on our trips from OKC to Tulsa and have clam rolls! YUMMY! WAY better than McAnything. But, I think she's right, and that is the largest McD's.

I think it's the Turner Turnpike though, not Will Rogers. I think the Will Rogers turnpike goes south of OKC through Lawton, but it's been several years since I lived in Oklahoma, so I could be wrong. But, Debbie is still right about the McDonald's! ;-)

Mitch, most of us on the left side of the country live so far out in the sticks we only see a McDonalds 2 or 3 times a year and they ain't very big!

Okay, my guess. Los Angeles, California.

Man... I could have sworn that Debbie was right! Mitch, you made me resort to googling!

Is the answer you're looking for Beijing, China?

-- Cheryl in KS (cherylmccoy@rocketmail.com), November 02, 2001.

Hey Everybody! Cheryl is cheating by having an 11 year old tutor her(!!??). And I think that is number FIVE; so Cheryl in the future you must put on a blindfold before reading the stumpers, or start giving classes on how to find thing on the net, yes its Beijing, China. Keep in mind that there a McMeal is about 10 days wages for the average blue collar person. And Cheryl, who was asking me for easier questions a few days back??

I din't know about the one in Beijing. I do know that there was some controversy about which was biggest a few yers ago the one in Vinita or the one in Moscow, Russia. It depended upon whether you figured total space under roof or just the space devoted to the restaurant. They used to sell souvenirs in OK that said it was the largest. That was back when I had little ones and McD's was the cuisine of choice.
