Friday's brain basher stumpers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Made a mistake yesterday, at the bottom of the Lusenet forums is a post from the forum writers; states for a list of all the forums on greenspan click here; I did; there are thousands of other forums. Everything from "Beannie baby rumors" to "4 cylinder-single overhead cam motorcycles" to popstar fan clubs, the list is endless. I opened a few because the titles intregued me; upon steping out of the area my Norton antivirus program poped up, it took a half hour of long distance cell phone call to get the problem cured. Don't go there!

Todays question: There is one day of the week, during a specified month when there are more babies born in America than any other day of the year per average. Therefore, these babys are born on____________ of the __________( 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th )week of _______________?

Something strange I have noticed, the correct answers usually come in at about the same time school lets out.......

Ok here goes: Monday, the 3rd week of June: pure guess on my part!!!

-- Melissa (cmnorris@1st.net), November 03, 2001.

Yes, I caught it after I posted it. Since I am a hermit mostly I do not allways know what day of the week it is. While I am thinking about it, Jillian did you ever answer your riddle?

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), November 03, 2001.

Mitch, I think it is SATURDAY!!!!

-- Melissa (cmnorris@1st.net), November 03, 2001.

I am going to take a really wild guess here; Monday, fourth week of November.

-- Cathy N. (keeper8@attcanada.ca), November 03, 2001.

Well, all I can tell you is that the most beautiful, most intelligent girls are born during the fourth weeks of March and August.... at least MINE were! :-)

Dang it, Mitch, you're back to hurting my brain again! I guess I'll have to wait until my 11 year old wakes up and see what SHE says! LOL!

Guessers; here is a cozy idea: connected thinking-do the math.~~

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), November 03, 2001.

I'll venture a guess - figurin' on the "cozy" portion of that blatant hint, and that many "oops" occur during the holiday season (think New Years, people!) - Wednesday (guessed on that one) of the 2nd week of September. Well, am I getting warm?

-- Judi (ddecaro@snet.net), November 03, 2001.

According to hint, 3rd week in March. According to my own birthday, 1st week in October. I'm the product of a New Year's eve celebration!

-- melina b. (goatgalmjb1@hotmail.com), November 03, 2001.

Okay, trying again: Wednesday, fourth week, September. By the way, I did the math, and figured there are 336 possible answers....I am really curious about the connection clues here.

Thursday of the 3rd week of Feburary.-Pure guess!

-- Micheale from SE Kansas (mbfrye@totelcsi.net), November 03, 2001.

More babies are born on Monday in the 4th week of September.

-- Mark in N.C. Fla. (deadgoatman@webtv.net), November 03, 2001.

The statistics chart I drew this question from places one guesser very close to the correct answer, but remember I nor the post said anything about New Years.~

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), November 03, 2001.

Saturday, the second week of November. (?)

-- (notellin'@no.spam), November 03, 2001.

Mitch, it gonna take me a while to dig out my conception and due date chart, it is buried deep!

I am not doing the math, but it would be 40 weeks from a warm Saturday night in August.

-- Laura (LadybugWrangler@hotmail.com), November 03, 2001.

November 14th.

-- Rebekah (daniel1@itss.net), November 03, 2001.

.......adjusted + or - a few days to account for the cycle of the moon would put it.....during the full moon in May.

-- Laura (LadybugWrangler@hotmail.com), November 04, 2001.

Connected thinking refers to "cozy", and because I nor the post said anything about New Years does not mean it cannot apply. Do the math refers to a time when you seek coziness, cold weather ect. Honorable mentions for Judi; the birth chart list the second Tuesday of September as the date when the largest number of babies are born, on average in America. For those of you that listed alternate months I do not understand where your beginning dates were formulated.

-- mitch hearn (moopups@citlink.net), November 04, 2001.

Mitch, I was calculating from peak ovulation and fertility rates.

-- Laura (LadybugWrangler@hotmail.com), November 04, 2001.

Ok, Mitch, i have no clue as to what date is which. Yet i have answered my riddle...everyone seemed to give up on it, so i didn't include my answer. I gave a pretty obvious hint, or at least i thought so.

I love these riddles, keep it up! ok, my guess. april, the eleveth. If not, i won't loose any sleep.

Would it be Sunday 4th week of October when Daylight Savings time ends (extra hour on that day)?
