Harvey Carr

greenspun.com : LUSENET : History & Theory of Psychology : One Thread

I am a Psychology major at Cal State University Long Beach and I am tracing back a geneological "family tree" beginning with my mentor Dr. Jung. I am stuck on Harvey Carr and the information I need to complete him is: title of his dssertation, and his advance topic of interest area. I would appreciate it if you would respond even if you do not know this information or where I can obtain it. Thank you.

Carr was a student of James Rowland Angell's at Chicago, obtaining his PhD in 1905. I'm afraid I do not know the title of his dissertation, however. You might check the following publication, however, to see if there is a note saying that it was originally his dissertation. It is the first thing Carr published after 1905:

A visual illusion of motion during eye closure. By Carr, Harvey Psychological Monographs. 1906 Aug Vol 7(3) 1-127

Also, have a look at the previous entry on Carr in this Forum. You can find it at http://hv.greenspun.com/bboard/admin-q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=006W5f
