Free CGI for automated content entry?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grady's school webmasters forum : One Thread

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good (freeware) CGI script that would let teachers put information about their club/sport directly onto the page, without having them go through the webmaster/team. I've found one called genesis (www.xav.com/scripts/genesis) that I think allow templates, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Any info would be helpful, Thanks.

Grady High School uses a free service called "LUSENET"

It is the same service that runs this forum. It doesn't produce formatted web pages but it has two great advantages: It is very simple and it does e-mail alerts. Here is Grady's "Real News" page:

Right now, Grady has 90 folks with email alerts. When someone posts a football report, for example, 90 folks get the report via e-mail.

If you click on the "LUSENET" link at the top of this page, you can learn more about it.
