Dog spit (/slobber - how to clean off glass windows)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Anyone know an efficient way to clean dog goo off windows? My brother's dog sits next to the window looking for him when he is in town. When he gets home the dog gets all excited and licks the window. Very hard to remove. Any ideas?

First, it's "dog slobber" not "dog spit" unless your canine is projecting it from his mouth across a distance. :o)

All kidding aside, Windex and newspaper used to get my Golden's slobber off the side glass. I hope this helps.

We have a back door that is glass and I use Windex and paper towels. Works great unless the dog is outside and decides to watch me and smears the other side also! I would rather have smudges versus scratches anytime.

I can relate...used to have a Bloodhound. They are real "slobber slingers"..but I loved him and miss him alot. I used windex and paper towells too. But...if it dried very long I sometimes had to sort of scrape it with a bread bag tab to get it loose..ugh.

Yeah, that's the problem. It dries and then it is very hard to scrub off the glass.

Try a razor blade scraper, the kind used to scrape the inspection stickers, paint and so forth off windows, then the spray cleaner.

ROFL at the image of a dog aiming spit at windows... Ok, maybe I just needed real bad to laugh. It was a tough day. (How do you make it all better for an 8 yr old girl whose dog just had to be put to sleep due to cancer???)

Nothing has ever helped more around here than a puppy. And even if it seems too soon..it isn't.

Try Kirby's Scuttle it is the best cleaner my family has ever used. It even gets rid of the oil-filled backdoor car window effortlessly.
