greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

A good friend of my , I met him today at a concert , he was telling me , he's going to divorce after 11 year , she has someone else , he said this to me ; and it's true , I saw her last week at another concert with that another guy !! __ He catched/busted her a few weeks ago with that another guy in bed , (I am not telling a joke !!) , now , since 2 weeks she lives together with that guy !! __ She doesn't want to come back !! They're both catholics , married for law and church !! __ My friend , he was a bit down because of this situation !!

So , what they have to do , to divorce or to save their marriage ??

Save the marriage, if possible.
We should presume that they were validly married and that God desires that they remain together "until death parts" them.

One spouse must be very repentant.
One spouse must be very forgiving.
Both must be very open to God's graces, with which it is possible for the great wound to be healed.

God bless you.

Dear Laurent:
What is the meaning of your title question, ''divorce or save''?

Nobody has the power to ''save'' a marriage, unless the two spouses do it. The divorce is not valid in God's sight, so you can get forty divorces. He will still see these spouses as married to one another. Pray for them. They need our prayers, because 1.) The adulteress is living in mortal sin; and 2.) Her husband is always going to be her husband, even if they are granted a divorce. So, he was ''a bit down''? Ha!

He isn't going to hell for eternity (as things are); she IS. She should be ''down''. You should also be ''down'', Laurent. You are an atheist. In the Holy Bible it says, ''The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.' '' That means You!

Get ready to meet God one day; and be judged unworthy of entering into His glorious Presence. You will be sent to hell, where the adulterous woman and you can talk it all over! She will cry-- ''Why didn't I ''save'' my marriage?'' --You will cry, ''I never wanted to believe in God. Now it's too late!''
