ENVIR - HOG CONFINEMENTS IN IOWA

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

The Des Moines Register put this page up today. It shows where all of the larger hog confinements are in Iowa. It is clickable all the way down to telling who owns individual confinements. Cool map.

Guess I will be moving soon. I didn't realize that there were so many near us. If you go to the next to the bottom tier of counties and 5 counties from the left (Clarke), that is where I live. We live almost on the county line between Clarke and Union (4 counties in). This doesn't show the confinements that fall just under the size limit for needing a permit and there are a few of them around as well.

Say beckie, if bacon wanders into your property, can you cook it?

Barefoot, You do have to make an effort to find the owner, but yes I know how to cook "bacon".

Last year when a tornado when through, it went right up the county line and we were all hoping it would hit this one confinement, but it missed.
