1. How have you spent the last few days?

I had lots of rest. I had been ill the week before the international break and I really felt I needed a rest so I just went home and spent the time with my wife and family. I feel great now and all my health niggles have gone.

2. Did you watch the Australia-France game?

I watched the last quarter of an hour because it was shown at 9 o clock in the morning and I wasn't out of bed. I see that Duggarry wss injured and it looked fairly competitive.

3. While you were in Montpellier, certain Newcastle players were in Spain. Have you heard anything about the trip?

No, not really. It was just a rest break really. They stayed in the hotel where we stayed with PSG earlier in the year. A lot of the team play golf so they could have some fun and relax.

4. Why weren't you there?

The manager gave me the choice. He said, "Laurent, you can come with us or spend time with your family - it's up to you". So I chose the latter option.

5. What happened in training on Saturday?

I didn't come back on Saturday as my son was ill and he couldn't fly so I came back on Sunday night and started training yesterday morning.

6. What have you been doing in training?

A lot of fitness work, on and off the ball and I've spent a lot of time in the gym, yesterday afternoon and after the full session this morning. We have worked very hard.

7. What about tomorrow?

It's a day off tomorrow but we'll be working for the Fulham game on Thursday.

Is there any innuendo in there or is it just the beer?

He wants to watch out dispensing with balloons like that or he'll be in for more sleepless nights. There's something in the water up here, you only have to leave your trousers on the end of the bed...
