Home made ice cream for one

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I asked in an earlier for a method and recipe for home made ice cream for one, and decided that this puter thingy was more than a doorstop and came up with this: 1 1/2 cup milk or half&half or cream 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/4 cup sugar 2 cups of ice or more 1/2 cup table salt Put the firstthree in a 1 quart ziplock freezer bag, put ice and salt in a 1 gallon bag and the quart bag, shake it baby, and in about 10 minutes you can mouth out. This might be a hit with the pre teens at birthday parties, ect. Have them add their choise of fresh fruit or flavorings and shake their own.

My son had just asked for ice cream. So I thought -Sure-.My only revision to make in the reciepe is "make sure the bag is zipped, before you give it to your 5 year old to shake!!!"Got to go clean up! God Bless!!!

Michaele -- that could be a very important point....hope the mess wasn't too large -- spray factor on those ingredients could be pretty high!!

Thanks, Mitch. The boys and I are going to try this and surprise Daddy after dinner!!!
