Something that is needed badly somewhere is someone to give a daily lesson in puter operation. I can do email, search engines, forums, but do not know anything about hyperlinks, cut and past, attach or open attachment, ect. The simple kindergarden version is what I am seeking (so I can keep up with the 7 year olds). Any body got the time......

Mitch, I am studying an affiliate program with a site that you are going to find just fantastic. It's for new or wet-behind-the-ears users. Let me check it out tomorrow and decide whether Imma gonna go with it or not. Then I'll give you either the straight link or my affiliated link. Doesn't cost anything, unless you wanna buy some of their stuff, which looks good. (Hope I didn't just complicate this for you.) It's 7:20 p.m. for me, so I'm off for the night. See y'all tomorrow.

I would love this too! I know so little compared to what this machine will do! Most of the things I have managed to learn have been by accident, and then I try to figure out what I did to make it happen!!!!

Check this out: http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/kids/tools/index.html

It's called WebMonkey for Kids, which means it might be beyond us, but it's the most simplistic site I've found so far. Have fun!

Ok, Mitch and others, here is the link to The Newbie Club. It's motto is, "Hey, I'm a newbie, not a dummy. Just show me HOW!" (Even if you're a dummy, you can learn something here.)

Here's their blurb: "At last, the mysteries of your PC and the Internet explained - in plain English! Does computerish sound like gibberish? Is Techie-Speak driving you crazy? Need help to fix a technical problem? Welcome to The Newbie Club."

I signed up a few months ago to their free newsletter and, though I'm not a newbie, have learned a good deal. I'd been thinking about their affiliate program, and after Mitch's comments, I went back, looked it through and signed up. All that means for you is, if you someday decide to buy something off their site, I'll get a percentage. So check it out -- no obligation. I think you'll find a lot of helpful material there in simple language.

Mitch, the free stuff is down toward the bottom (typical, huh?). Click where it says "Click here now for your free membership benefits." Go to the bottom of the page and sign up for the freebies. With that comes a newsletter with some good tips.

Some of their other stuff is for sale. You can just ignore that if you're not interested.

Hope this helps.
