Hello,

I'm considering buying a 1950s Chambers stove. Can anyone tell me of any potential nightmares I might be getting into in regards to repairs and parts?

Lots in there about old stoves. I think there are lots of Chambers stoves out there, seem to be one of the more common. Good luck!

I have an old Chambers stove, when we purchased the farm it came with the kitchen. At first I hated the dang thing after i saew the pics of the kitchen, then I happened to see a pic of one in one of those expensive log haome magazines, thought, "hmmmmm!" So after I got here and starting to use it I love it. I know from reading the newslewtters from the antiwuestoves.com site that valves are hard to find along with replacement stock pots. Mine doesn't ahve one but when I e-mailed the site owner he said you could use aluminum. Hope this helps.

Bernice, they're selling replacement pots for the Chambers somewhere in that site that I posted. Don't remember how much they want for them, though!

Hi Deanna Look around carefully with someone that knows these stoves. They are fantastic if youget one complete / working and with all accessories. make sure all knobs/handles work / lock as they supposed to, Do not worry about cleaning - I use Easy off and it works perfect. In the 50' they use caustic soda ( same stuff that is inside easy off cans). b/rgds Vasile
