Verizon on the east coast had a major outage. DSL service has been spotty for several days. Dial-up has been crawling. Greenspun has been down - or at least I could not get in.

What does "faded into the woodwork" mean? Sounds like something my grandfather woulda said. You a centenarian, JBT? Or is it centurian? Ah, fuggedaboutit. Were you born in the 1800's?
