I can't find anything by Parkin (perhaps you have the name wrong) but you might start by reading the letters/comments relating to repression in the September 2001 American Psychologist. The Freud in question is Anna rather than Sigmund. You'll find some references you can track down for a history of some of this research.

I would just like to reply to the answer which you gave to me on a question about Parkin et al and Freuds Theory that repression is the key to all forgetting. In your answer you told me that u could not find a Parkin et al and that it was actually Anna Freud that i needed to look at. I would just like to say that I am studying A-Level psychology at Hereford Collage of Technolagy and we have just completed the section on forgetting. For this we had to write an essay on Freuds Theory that repression is the key to all forgetting and in all the txt books and libary books it refers to the Freud in question as Mr Sigmund Freud and also in all books I looked at it commented about a Parkin et al as he supposidly repeated Freuds tests and was against his theories. When I completed my essay i got 66%. My conclusion to this is that u read my question wrong or something else happened as I hope that I am not being taught wrong anyway thank you for all your help and hopefully I will use your question service again soon.
