If You're Traveling Nov. 21 . . . .

. . . . please take your time and remain alert. If nothing else, more idiots than ever will be taking to our highways, as well as a goodly number of crabby patrol officers, with and without speeding ticket quotas to fulfill. Tomorrow and Sunday are not days to plan on "making time" or omitting your seatbelt.

I also urge everyone who must travel to carry their own food and drinks. Take extra in the event that you are stranded somewhere. Extra cash, a lightweight blanket, and possibly a travel pillow may come in handy, too, if you can't be persuaded to haul around a BOB.

I have heard no new warnings that I consider credible; however, I encourage everyone who has to deal with the masses tomorrow, whether at airports, bus stations, or on the roads to be prepared for stupidity that may lenghten your journey.

Best to all! Good Luck. I'll be right here. If you need anything, give a shout.

According to news reports, 87% of all travelers are expected to drive this year. That's a lot of drivers! We shall stick around Chez Git but will go out for dinner on Tday.

We aren't going even as far as work for Thanksgiving. Family is close.

Hoping that all have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

I'm not going anywhere near a mall, or downtown. Closest is to work on Friday/Saturday.

Certainly seems like a good time not to be traveling by plane. And I'm thinking more about the potential for really obscene disruptions than actual harm. At any rate, I'll be home hoping I can get a little yard work in.

Yes, please be ever so careful if you get behind the wheel, or board a plane.

But also, let us reflect upon what Thanksgiving is. What are you Thankful for?

I'm thankful that I can be thankful.
