What is your absolute favorite food at Thanksgiving? I like the stuffing!!

I use tons of sage from my herb bed and lots of garlic, onion, and celery. I use whole wheat bread and lots of turkey broth. It is so good and is my favorite Thanksgiving food!

#1 is stuffing! #2 is pumpkin pie. #3 is lima beans from my Mom's garden. I'm not serving limas this year because I only have 2 pint bags in the freezer and I'm not sharing! The ones from the store (frozen and canned) are nasty!

I'll take my Mom's home made pumpkin pie served cold covered with whipped cream. My best friend's Mom's stuffing comes in second.

We are having friends over for the day. When she asked what they should bring, I told my friend whatever their family likes to have that I might not make. She's bringing "pink stuff"; I told her I would make my "green stuff" haha. I like those congealed salads, the rolls, the turkey; we'll have the home-grown black-eye peas and corn from the freezer. Yumm! (And, of course, pie!)

Turkey--I'm allergic to beef and pork, so even though I eat turkey quite often, on Thanksgiving I don't feel deprived.

We always serve Blueberry Muffins topped with sugar crumbs. Another delicious regular is (Cranberry) Mallow-Yam Bake. It is fresh carrots or yams, and cranberries baked in a flour, oats, margerine, brown sugar, cinnamon, mixture. Cloves add a nice touch. Brown a pile of marshmallows on top, after baking at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until bubbling and or popping.

Mashed potatoes and gravy!

Baked yams, mashed turnips, acorn squash with a rice and raisin filling, homemade rolls and real butter, carrot cake, fresh apple cake, brocolli and rice casserole, spinach and artichoke dip, creamed peas, dates stuffed with cream cheese and pecan halves, ... the list just won't end. lol

My sister chimed in her favorite ... blond brownies. She's famous for making these in our family. Even when she first started making them and they weren't that good, we'd rave over them. She is mentally handicapped and this is quite an accomplishment for her. They are probably the best blond brownies in the world.
