Vegetarian Thanksgiving Prayer

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Spirit of Creation, As we see the birds flying together across the sky, We are glad they are there. As we see the fish swimming in the sea, We are glad they are there. When we see a deer or an elk or a rabbit or a squirrel in the woods, We are glad they are there, And not on our dinner table here tonight. Amen. (By G. Lawson)

Lord, bless this house and our humble fare. We thank Thee for the birds of the air, the animals of the land and the fish of the sea that you have in your wisdom provided for our sustenance and care. Thank you for protecting us from those that would in the name of misplaced charity turn all your creation into a factory farm leaving no room for your wonderful creations as in such a world they would have no value, for that which is not valued is soon destroyed. Amen.

meat is good eating

For those of us that eat meat we should be thankful for that which we have received.

For those who choose to eat no meat they should be thankful for that which they have received.

What more need be said?

You guys couldn't just let Shannon's prayer lie. It said Vegetatrian Thanksgiving Prayer in the title and you HAD to come in here and mess with it didn't you...you are shameful...

Right. It wasn't meant to incite the meat-eaters.

Not me! Happy! Happy! Happy! :)

I know you are, Shannon! You usually are! I was just poking a little harmless fun! BTW, I'm happy too! LOL!

Except for Stan doing his usual poking who in this thread has been incited? Neither the post I made nor Sandra's was any sort of attack on vegetarianism or vegetarians. I have no beef...uhh problem with vegetarians if they have no problem with me. I was merely expressing the concept that we should ALL be thankful - and we should.
