Agfa Sistan turned yellow?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

I have a unopened bottle of Sistan. I guess I have it for 9 months now. I left it where it sometimes got sunshine on it. If I remember it was only slightly yellow when I got it but now it is as yellow as stop. And there was some stuff at the bottem that fell out of solution. Does anyone know if it is still good or should I throw it out?

Russell,

I don't think it is a problem. I've been using Sistan for years and it get a bit darker with time but will not stain your prints. In the end, only time will tell...

I've used Sistan over the past few years, but I've never seen this happen. I had an unopened bottle of Sistan for 6 months, but there was no color change. Maybe your Sistan has died? Still, I prefer selenim toning these days, and stopped using Sistan.
