I have a large bottle of Rodinal that I wish to use up and would like to try it with the old Delta 400. Is this a good developer for film?

I have used Xtol 1:2 with the old Delta 400 and it works great, however I would prefer to use a more reliable developer.

I wouldn't recommend Rodinal with Delta 400. I didn't like the look, and grain was big. If you're looking for a reliable developer, use HC-110. I use it all the time, and it's consistent and easy to control. If you're OK with powders, there's always good old D76 or Ilford ID-11. These are reliable as hell and it's easy to get consistent controllable results with all three developers I've mentioned.

Rodinal is one of my 2 main developers, but I've had bad results developing the older Delta 400 in it, rather grainy, and a noticable base fog (grey-ish film) I probably developed at a temp too high, but after 2 ruined rolls, I've developed Delta 400 in other chems.
