An email I just got

For the first time, in my rather long career with email, I received an email consisting only of an attachment. No little message, no subject line, undisclosed sender. No thank you.

No kidding!

And while we're on the subject, I wish people would delete the addresses at the top of the e-mai, you know, when it's been to several people already and you have to scroll down several times to get to the subject. On busy days it's really irritating and I just dump the e-mail in the trashcan without reading it.

I read over at TB2K on a post from Uncle Bob that there was a VB script which was gathering people's IP addresses over at Unk's. It was titled something like "To All the old Lurkers" or some such title.

Oh, and I have started to get tons of email from some remailer something unhinged or something like that. When I get the one tomorrow morning, I'll let you know what the domain is. I don't open them, as I didn't ask for them. However, they don't appear to contain any virus, as they have passed 3 scans before it actually gets to my inbox.

The newest big virus does NOT need an attachment to attack you if you are receiving your mail through outlook or outlook express. I sent a message out to EVERYONE in my mail box that I will no longer even open mail with "re:" in the subject box. If they have something they want to say to me, they need to say it with a new message or forget it. I really like outlook because I have it all programed to remind me of all my "stuff" and all this garbage just really gets on my nerves. Why do people have to be so destructive of a nice thing like e-mail??

Another thing I really hate is when people send to everyone but include everyones address. Like then it gets forwarded on and before you know it hundreds of people you don't even know have your address. Shees,,,,,,doesn't take that long to clean things up of other peoples addresses before you send it on.

yer right Diane, all email programs allow the sender to list the recipients as BCC, or "Blind Carbon Copy."

Then when someone gets the email, it only says 'undisclosed recipient' or something along that line.

Unwanted e-mails from advertisers can be reported to spamcop.net. I report a lot of 'em, I'm just so sick and tired of being spammed, especially the porn stuff.

Well, if you would stop going to those sites....

[running away real fast and dodging behind other threads now] LOL

Barefoot, I don't visit porn sites. How come I'm getting lots of spam inviting me to view "Barely legal teen girls, all nude"?

Meems, that's MILD compared to what I've been getting lately--they make what we would consider graphic seem like subtle. I used to forward them to Carl but that didn't work out well, did it Carl? Anyway, I blame it all on ezboard. It wasn't nearly so bad until I got in their system. Sweetie is on the same two e-mail accounts I am and doesn't ever get any nasty spam.
