Did you see the Harry Potter movie? Did you like it? Have you ready the books? Do you believe that Harry and his friends are evil for practicing witchcraft? Give me the skinny!

I am totally in love with the books and really like the movie. I do not think that Harry and friends are evil, because when I was younger and read the Narnia books, I did not go against my faith in my religion. I knew the difference between fact and fiction when I was 8. Parents should teach their kids the difference between fact and fiction as well. There wouldn't be such a fuss if parents would be involved in their children's activities...escpecially the young ones!!

Fictional characters may be evil, but books are never such. I've read the Harry Potter series. I file it with several of my other guilty pleasure reads, which are fun to read, but generally not for recommending to adults. (Harry's a little better than some of the schlock I've waded through over the years. Much of it has the intellectual maturity of an Action Flick like The Terminator...)

The debates which exist over the books have receded (somewhat) since the Pope gave them an official sanction, thankfully. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly humankind will resort to a book-barbeque. Bah.

(As for Narnia not conflicting with anyone's beliefs, I suspect that your other poster is a Christian - the Narnia series is pretty much just Christianity dressed in Lion drag. If you don't see this, read them again, only everytime you see the lion of title fame, think "God". The later stories are even more transparent.)
