It snowed all yesterday,so pretty and it's 9 " here and a foot in town. The sun is shining today, so a perfect day to make cookies. Hoping to go my Daughter's on Sat. Some years we get lots of snow and go alot of places. Last year we went a lot. We just never knowso like to take Christmas presents early.

Tyler our 6 mon. old pup got fixed yesterday. She is doing good and is out in the snow. She wants to play with our Son's dog. So far our fence has kept them separate, till the stitches heal.

This is one time black cows look really pretty, in the snow. We still don't have our cow and calf home. She keeps running the other way. Were going to try again tomorrow.

We are having very mild weather here. I am enjoying it very much but am anxious for snow, too. Our weather is so unpredictable since we are sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. I am praying for no ice storms!

The weather here is mild also. No snow, just rain. My friend in NE Oklahoma received three inches of snow yesterday - imagine - before those of us up north here! :-). I thought it was interesting that so many southern states received snow and ice and we haven't yet - not complaing in the least though, believe me. I love snow but after having so much of it constantly on the ground last year, I'm willing to wait awhile for it this year.

Hi. I'm in Central MN-- out in west MN they got 20" of snow on Monday (or was it Tues?) and more the next day. We have alot here, too, but not like them. It's awful pretty, and the kids are constantly wanting to be out there. yes, a good day for cookies.

It's been in the 80's here lately - I'd much rather have the snow, so I'm envious of you! At this point I'll even settle for some rain so my well won't go completely dry. Enjoy the snow!

Deena-I'd love to send you some of our rain-my basement's flooded! We had one of the dryest Novembers on record until this week-we had 3- 5 inches today! Flood warnings all around- actually, the basements not too bad, water seeped in, but its not standing. Its pretty warm out though-50's I think. I'm in South Central Ky

I have been without electricity for 4 hours and an hour and a half today. Our trees are covered with ice. It started raining around noon and I think the added weight did the trick. You could hear the trees popping as the ice fell. One of my trees over the pond dropped all it's ice and it was so pretty to watch. I would rather have snow, it is a lot easier to drive on!!!

We had 12 inches here in central Oklahoma. Many places around the state only had about 4, but we managed to attract to largest amount in the state. Must have known that I wanted to open the wall and put in new windows, eh? lol

Ivy,

I am originally from Oklahoma. Through the years I have heard people from Northern states poke fun at southern states closing schools for several inches of snow or for ice. They always made remarks about how up North they drive after having a foot of snow or more. Then, I moved up North and have been laughing ever since (not at ). Of course they can drive after a big snow and keep schools open !!- They have SNOWPLOWS that keep most of the snow off the road and they SALT and they have lots of both (I guess I should say "WE" since I am now a Northerner myself-and loving it too) LOL! And...there usually isn't a lot of ice which is a whole different story when your driving on that stuff.

When I lived in Oklahoma the county used the road graders to try to get the snow off and they spread sand, not salt. Sand just gives a little traction (until it is covered up) and salt actually melts snow.

Anyway, I am not picking on anybody here - just having a little bit of fun. However, all of us should maybe have to spend several seasons in different parts of each state and walk in some other shoes ((or snowshoes) for a while. Too bad this isn't possible. LOL.

I'm walking in some different shoes here in Colorado-lol. This week, my folks in Central Texas have been in the deep freeze, too, and the cold there is actually a lot colder that cold here! But I'll bet next week they get some 70's again to make up for it;)
