Greetings

It is originally attributed to the Chinese ... just as a Chinese proverb

Pastor Paris, Bro Pillay is correct, it is a Chinese Proverb. (Checked Familiar Quotations by John Bartlett) Bartlett's only comment on it was a footnote mentioning that it is the longtime motto for the Christopher Society. God Bless Bro Bob

During this Advent season, many people are lighting candles and putting up Christmas lights. The lights always remind me of Jesus, who is the Light of the world.

When I worked with the YPD'ers, we taught them the song, "It is better to light just one little candle than to stumble in the dark. All you need is to light just one little candle all you need's a tiny spark...

If you can't be the candle, be the spark.

As stated earlier this is a long-time motto of an organization called The Christophers, a nonprofit faith organization. For more info on the origin of the motto, you may email them directly at mail@christophers.org
