My valve springs are a bit too short of the minimum(about 20 thousanths). Does anyone know what the free lenghts of new springs should be? Can they be safely shimmed to the right length? what is that right length? There are two springs for each cylinder, an inner and an outer.

Hi Cyril. The free length listed in the Honda shop manual is 40.4mm/1.59" for the outer and 35.7mm/1.40" for the inner. Don't know about shimming for sure, but I've heard it's not recommended. Good luck.
