All,

I just found out the date of my foot surgery, it is December 21st. I'll be off of my feet for at least two weeks. I may not be able to return to work for 8 weeks, but I'm hoping it will be sooner than that. I've got a bunion on a foot that I already had that specific operation on about 15 years ago. Seems like this time it will be much worse as the foot has already been cut like that before. There is a whole lot less bone to work with this time than before. So.... if I disappear for a while, you'll know what it is.

I hate it like heck when a doctor tells you it will "be much worse than the last time". It was painful as heck then, so I can't even imagine what it will be like this time. It has to do with "floater bones" and calcium deposits. Hopefully he'll be able to dig all those little floaters out this time so I won't have to go thru this particular hell ever again.

The good side, if ever there is such a good side in situations like this, is that I'll finally get waited on hand and foot. (Heck, I'll need help in just getting to the bathroom to go pottie!) Can you imagine the mounds of laundry that I'll be faced with once I can finally hobble around a bit? :O

Ach, apoc, I cringe for you! But, on the good side, there's been an amazing amount of progress in the surgical field in the last fifteen years. Better drugs too, lol! Could you afford to get someone in to help you with the housework? Maybe your insurance would pay for a Kelly home help or something.

Also on the good side, you'll be able to spend a lot of time posting stuff to the forum, lol! Get a notebook computer!
