Is there any body of literature that examines if/how/when studies of psychology influence studies or practice in education?

Hi Stanley, the answer to your question is yes. And it is spread across several disciplines too. You might what to check the Ed. Psych. Lit. A woman by the name of Virginia Voeks wrote a psychology of adjustment book called, I think, How to Become an Educated Person. Her book emphasized empirical results for practical recomendations for studying. Or you could approach this from the publications addressed to school psychologists. Or you could approach this topic from the special concerns of the state, for instance there was once a rubella fever outbreak that left a large population of deaf children in its wake. Washington State wanted to know if the children should be educated by teaching them to speak or teaching them to use sign language, and this issue was investigated by Ed. Psych/ Speach methods. Studies on how people learn have also influenced the design of buildings; some psychology buildings have small class rooms and lots of labs, and this so each of your classes will have a lab so you can learn by doing. So there are several avenues to approach your study. Good luck, David
