Deer, Donuts and Lil Dumplin. [Christian talk]

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Settin on the tailgait of Lil Dumplins pickup yesterday afternoon and lookin north from old jeeps house-I saw a covey of deer. [Betcha ya'll never heard'm called that before?] They were mosey'n towards the west and to a woods. Somebody had thrown out some apples alongside that woods and that was where those dudes were headed I'm sure. I don't like deer meat or some of those relatives would've found their way to my deepfreezer! Old Griz, jeeps old dog, was really concerned about a squirrel down alongside the creek just south of the house. He never even saw those deer! Old Jake will chase'm out of his pasture if they wander in it. He's a gouchy old dude when somebody is treadin on his turf!

I've been hintin to "ole sis", my neice, for some homemade "hoot donuts" but so far to no avail! I am so hungry for'm that I'm bout ready to chew the bark off my maple trees in the front yard! I posted the buildin directions for'm on the cs forum. Suppose they're still in the archives--that is if ya'll'r interested in build'n some. Anybody live close nuff to me? If so, maybe half dozen or so mite find their way to the "house of hoot"! Lil Dumplin is gone and I sure wouldn't tell'r!

Christmas will soon be on us. I love the season and the reason! Many folks are so unhappy at this time of the year and it shouldn't be that way. What is supposed to be a Glorious event sometimes works the opposite way on lonely and old folks. Please check on some of'm around ya'll. Take'm a little Christmas Treat of homemade fudge, cake or pie just to let'm know they are important!

Jesus Christ is coming again and He won't be coming as a little helpless baby this time! He'll be coming in Power and Glory to gather His own to take'm with Him back to Glory. If ya'll don't know Him-have never accepted Him as Lord and Saviour--you won't be included in that "gathering". "Study and show yourself approved". Old hoot gibson. Matt.24;44

Thanks for the post, hoot, you are correct on the holidays being a lonely time for some of us. It is very nice to be reminded that ALL of us are special to someone in this world.

My wife lost her father to cancer about seven years ago on New Years Day. She tries to put on a brave face for the rest of us, but I can tell the memory affects her holiday spirit. Our three year old usually snaps her right back to herself, though. This year, her pregnancy has also effected her moods, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Late spring, God willing, a little girl will be added to our three person home. Thanks again for your post

j.r. a little girl will be such a blessing! I had been wanting to ask how your wife was doing, but didn't want to seem nibby. So I hope everything goes OK for her and keep us updated.
