Free choice minerals as garden fertilizer???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have about 40lbs of free choice sheep minerals I will never use. Can I use this sparingly in my garden or will this cause problems? Anyone ever done this?

Mineral supplements vary depending on what you need in any particular area, so I suspect you can't know until you know what's in your paricular mix. However, they're all likely to be high in salt, and that's not a good thing for the garden. Confirm by licking your finger, sticking it in, and licking your finger again.
